BUILDING INSPECTOR

CAA is currently hiring a full-time Building Inspector to support field inspection operations in the Lake County region. 

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects in areas such as:

  • Structural

  • Plumbing

  • Mechanical

  • Electrical

• Ensure construction activities are in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Issue Notices to Comply when violations are identified

• Maintain organized records of inspection and plan check activities for documentation and potential legal use

• Assist customers and contractors at the public service counter as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a related construction or inspection role. High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred)

Required Certifications

• Must possess and maintain a Standard Inspector License issued by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation

• Certification in at least two of the following categories:

  • Structural

  • Electrical

  • Plumbing

  • Mechanical

  • One- to Two-Family Dwellings

• A Florida Licensed Architect or Engineer designation is a plus, but not required
