BUILDING INSPECTOR/ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
GREATER DENVER AREA

Charles Abbott Associates, Inc. (CAA) is hiring a full-time Building/Electrical Inspector to serve locations in the Greater Denver Area. This combined role involves conducting comprehensive field inspections and plan reviews to ensure all private and public projects meet applicable building and electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical installations, grading, and right-of-way projects.

Perform technical inspections for residential and commercial projects to ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.

Perform plan reviews for commercial and residential structures and assist at public counters.

Issue approval or correction notices and maintain accurate inspection records.

Respond to inquiries regarding building and electrical code compliance, regulations, and permit processing.

Collaborate with city review staff to resolve code conflicts and assure timely project reviews.

Utilize computer systems to maintain inspection and plan check records according to policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications

Strong experience in structural and/or residential combination inspections.

Cross-sectional experience in the electrical construction industry.

Knowledge of national building codes, NEC, zoning laws, grading practices, safety standards, and structural design principles.

Ability to recognize hazardous electrical installations and enforce licensing, certification, and permitting requirements.

Ability to read and interpret construction and electrical plans and blueprints.

Strong computer skills, customer service orientation, and effective communication abilities.

Certification and Licensing Requirements

Valid Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.

ICC Commercial and Residential Building Inspector Certifications preferred.

ICC Electrical Certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $41.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
