CAA is currently interviewing for a Part-Time and Full-Time Electrical Inspector to work for several of our clients in the Front Range Area of Colorado.

Job Description

  • Review construction plans to ensure compliance with and enforcement of the city’s electrical code.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding compliance with electrical codes and the city's permit processing procedures.

  • Answer questions about NEC, and CO State wiring and city electrical codes as applicable.

  • Perform technical review of plans for commercial and residential structures and systems to assure compliance with the electrical codes, works with other department and city review staff to coordinate project review and resolve potential conflicts in code requirements to assure a timely review.

  • Respond to inquiries from developers, architects, engineers, contractors and the general public regarding the city's requirements for development.

  • Interpret codes, regulations and processes.

  • Utilize computer and software to maintain records according to policies and procedures.

  • Issue approval notices for electrical installations and write correction notices when there are code violations.

  • Perform technical inspections for residential and commercial projects to ensure compliance with the National Electrical codes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience reading and interpreting plans and blueprints of electrical installations.

  • Demonstrated experience in a cross-section of electrical work in the electrical construction industry.

  • Positive interaction daily with the public, city employees, inspectors, plans examiners and the building official

  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, organized, with excellent follow-up skills.

  • Good written and in person communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills.

Requirements:

  • Must be a CO licensed Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician. Years of experience must include installing and maintaining electrical systems in commercial, industrial and residential facilities.

  • Ability to recognize hazardous installations and locations.

  • Commitment to public safety and enforcement of electrical licensing, certification and permitting requirements.

  • ICC Certifications a plus but not required.
